Fan Voting and Polling

Fans at a game see and hear a branded big screen message instructing them to vote via SMS in a specific poll, i.e. Player of the Game, Play of the Game, Best Fan Photo, etc.

The FanChatter Stadium tech on site (this role can be fulfilled by FanChatter or by trained team personnel) configures the contest and reports the voting results to the big screen operator and public address announcer for a branded results announcement later in the game.

Each fan that votes receives an instant branded text message reply on their phone. This message can contain custom sponsor branding including useful product information, coupons, announcements, web addresses, and/or instructions explaining how to opt-in via text message for future mobile updates and offers from the sponsor.

Voting results are displayed online in a custom results gallery, which can be customized by team and/or sponsor. Fans are invited to visit the gallery after the game to view the results, extending the brand interaction beyond the stadium experience and completing a “triple play” of brand communication platforms (in-arena, mobile, and online).

Common Short Codes

CSCs are short numeric codes (5- or 6-digits) to which text messages can be sent from a mobile phone. FanChatter can help a team lease a custom vanity CSC to tap the considerable potential of the mobile market with targeted campaigns and applications. Leasing keywords on a shared CSC is also supported.

General Requirements

  1. A large video screen display and/or LED signage
  2. A computer with a high-speed internet connection
  3. A way of transferring files and/or information from that computer to the computer controlling the big screen display (if they are different).
  4. A person assigned to monitor the submissions and select photos for display. FanChatter will train team personnel for this role or provide FanChatter personnel at an additional expense.
  5. For all SMS features, a Common Short Code is highly recommended but not required.
